Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice is hosting two in-person volunteer training classes.
The course is required for anyone wishing to volunteer through hospice. The first class will last from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday, September 18, at the SBL Willow Breeze Hospice House.
A second class will be held, 9 am to 4 pm, on Friday, October 9, at Willow Breeze Hospice House. Volunteers only need to attend one of the classes.
The class will cover: History and philosophy of hospice; the role of the volunteer; family dynamics; communications; spiritual care; psychological issues; clinical issues surrounding the terminal illness; pain control; and grieving and bereavement.
