Horizon Health teamed up with Senior Education Ministries for Dine with A Doc® in Marshall last week. The free program is offered the second Friday of every month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church and welcomes local seniors to hear an educational presentation while enjoying a complimentary lunch.
This month’s speaker was Judah Donaldson, APRN, FNP, from Horizon Health Orthopedics & Spine. Donaldson is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedic and spine care at Horizon Health and collaborates closely with Dr. Harish Kempegowda, an orthopedic and spine surgeon.
Judah spoke about osteoarthritis of the knees, including causes, symptoms, and treatment options. He discussed viscosupplementation, a treatment option involving an injection of a gel-like fluid containing naturally occurring hyaluronic acid into the joint space in the knee. The treatment is intended to help reduce pain, provide lubrication for the joint, and improve mobility.
Reservations for Dine with A Doc are required. Senior citizens should call toll-free at 877-223-6109 to make reservations for the location they would like to attend. They can also visit https://www.dinewithadoc.com/ill.html to view the calendar of events and reserve online.
