Support for Local Journalism in Clark County: Built on Community Partnership

Local journalism does not happen by accident.

Meetings, events, and games are covered because local businesses and citizens choose to support local reporting. A newspaper is more than a product, and more than a machine — it is a civic system that requires time, care, and consistency to function responsibly.

A printed edition of The Clark County Post is the ultimate goal. However, that goal will only be pursued when the editorial, operational, and financial systems required to support it are fully functional and sustainable. We will not commit to publishing a printed newspaper — nor accept subscription payments for print delivery — until that responsibility can be met reliably.

This approach reflects a commitment to the community: to grow the Post carefully, honestly, and without overpromising.

Two Ways to Support The Clark County Post

There are two distinct ways to support local journalism through the Post. Each serves a different purpose, and each is structured to protect editorial independence.

Community Coverage Sponsorship

Community Coverage Sponsors support the reporting of specific meetings, events, or activities that matter to Clark County readers.

This form of sponsorship makes it possible to cover local government, schools, sports, and community events that might otherwise go unreported.

Community Coverage Sponsors receive:

  • Coverage of meetings, events, or games
  • Prominent placement on the article page
  • Acknowledgement as a Community Coverage Sponsor
  • Permanent placement alongside the article

Sponsorship does not influence what is written or how it is reported.

Sponsors support the existence of coverage, not its content.

Available Community Coverage Includes

Public Meetings

  • Clark County Board
  • City and Village Councils
  • School Boards

Schools and Sports

  • High school events
  • Sports and tournaments
  • Seasonal coverage

Community Events

  • Festivals
  • Fundraisers

If a sponsor prefers not to select a specific category, support may be applied where coverage is most needed.

Editorial Independence

Government bodies may not sponsor coverage of their own meetings or actions. This ensures independence and public trust. Community organizations may support coverage outside their own direct oversight.

Steward Sponsorship

While Community Coverage Sponsors support specific reporting, Steward Sponsors support the newspaper itself.

Steward Sponsors provide ongoing support for The Clark County Post, helping ensure that local journalism can continue week after week — independently, responsibly, and without reliance on outside intermediaries.

Steward Sponsorship is not tied to any individual article, meeting, or outcome. It supports the sustainability of the Post as a whole.

Steward Sponsors:

  • Help sustain the long-term operation of the newspaper
  • Do not influence editorial decisions
  • Do not sponsor specific stories

Their support allows The Post to remain focused on what matters locally.

What We Choose Not to Do

Just as important as what appears in The Post is what does not.

The Clark County Post does not publish information that is not directly relevant to Clark County readers. If information can be easily found in dozens or hundreds of other outlets, there is little reason to reproduce it here.

We also will not seek or accept advertising from Google, Amazon, or other large internet-based advertising networks.

No programmatic ads.
No tracking-driven placements.
No third-party intermediaries.

All sponsorship and advertising on this site comes directly from local businesses, organizations, or individuals who intentionally choose to support local journalism.

A Shared Goal

Whether through Community Coverage Sponsorship or Steward Sponsorship, support for The Clark County Post helps build something meant to last: a reliable, independent local newspaper rooted in Clark County and accountable to its readers.

We are grateful to those who choose to support local journalism — carefully, deliberately, and close to home.
