Irene Shotts, 95, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away at 9:54 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Springhill Village in Terre Haute, Indiana.
She was born July 30, 1930 in rural Martinsville, Illinois, the daughter of Alden Martin and Violet Smitley Martin. She was married to Leon Shotts who preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Martin and Ralph Martin.
Surviving are a daughter, Violet (Glen) Heatherly of Martinsville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Stacey Herrington of Terre Haute, Indiana, Brandy Heatherly of Marshall, Illinois and Kacey (Jonathon) Heatherly of West York, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Katelyn, Amber, Adin, Ethan, Jadyn, Kaleb, Korbon and Juneiper; a great-great-grandchild, Everly and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was a member of the Baptist Faith and had retired from TRW in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Pearce Funeral Home. Services in honor of her life will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Martinsville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Condolences are being accepted online at PearceFuneralServices.com.
